How far would you go to achieve a dream or ideal?

“I’m here to tell you, number one, that most of you say you want to be successful, but you don’t want it bad. You just kinda want it. You don’t want it as much as you want to party.”

Whatever your bigger goals are in life, what are you willing to do achieve it? Are you willing to make sacrifices? Work when others are sleeping? Eat only ramen noodles? Breakup with a girlfriend/boyfriend who is holding you back?

You may think you want it so bad, but do you really?

Any area of life where you want success isn’t going to happen overnight. If you think it’s going to be easy, this post will be a waste of time for you.

After listening to my brother talk about his live and what he has achieved one night, i started asking myself realistic questions about the things that makes me happy and how far am i willing to go to achieve them. I realized that everything becomes a process but if i stick to it falling in love with the process the results would be fulfilling.

Liking the idea and being committed are two completely differentiated things.

People who like the idea of blogging, just read about blogging. Committed ones put what they learn into action. The idea of a business sounds good to many. Committed ones live and breath their business. The idea of losing 20 pounds sounds great. The committed ones actually do it.

Committed ones don’t quit

No matter what it is in life, if you want to achieve things you will need to over come challenges. If you do not have challenges you probably do not have REAL CHALLENGING goals or dreams.  The easiest thing in life is to stay status quo and not stepping out to reach your full potential and/or full goals that you set for yourself.  There are days when you are tired (I had one of those today), days when you feel overwhelemed and days you just do not care or feel like it. UNDERSTAND THAT IS OKAY!  No one...well I should say most people, are not on level 10 every minute of every day!

Quitting is also a lesson; a really expensive lesson, if you ask me. You pay for that lesson with the time you lost, the energies you invested, and a major blow to your ego. However, sometimes you find yourself with your back to the wall and you need to take drastic measures to save the day.

“Throw your soldiers into positions fro whence there is no escape, and they will prefer death to flight.  If they will face death, there is nothing they may not achieve. Officers and men alike will put forth their uttermost strength.” Sun Tzu

Do you know why people quit? There are 3 major reasons:

  • Perfectionism.

  • Lack of faith.

  • General inability to keep commitments due to a history of failures.

All three are bound to each other. The more you fail, the less committed you become. If you’re less committed, you have less faith. If you don’t have faith in what you’re doing, every non-perfect condition can break your resolution. It’s that simple.

Fight Perfectionism, fight lack of faith (whether in you or in others) and fight history to stop it from repeating itself!

I came to a realization of my own commitment

That’s what got me started on this whole journey. For so many years before 2018. Looking back, I had zero commitment! I loved the idea of it, but I wasn’t willing to do what it took. I was afraid of failing not understanding that failing makes me stronger and its not about failing its about how you deal with failure and how your character carry's you to want to push on.

From that moment, I could either slowly waste my boring life away, or do something about my life. Whatever I did HAD to be better than how my life was.

That commitment has brought me to this point and a whole new attitude on life.

Take a look at yourself

Do you want to be just average or do you want to be extraordinary?

That’s why I wanted to write this post. To encourage you to take a long look at yourself and think if you are really doing enough to achieve your dreams irrespective what age you are, stop complaining about your life and choices you think aren't working for you when things get tough. Those are the times when you about to blessed with a break through.

Look at your actions. Look at what you’re doing in your free time. Look at the results you’ve been getting. Take a hard look at yourself and be honest.

If it feels too easy, you’re probably not doing enough.

Would you continue despite being put down and embrace change for yourself or remain a complaining statistic moaning about how bad your life is ?

You may think you want it really bad, but are you willing to commit everything you’ve got?

How bad do you want it? And how far would you go to achieve your dreams?
